This Text Messaging Policy applies to patients ("You") who interact with Miami Beach Family & Sports Chiropractic Center through the text-chat widget on our website, or who provide their mobile number through any form on our website. By sending a message through the widget, or by providing your mobile number and clicking submit, you agree to receive text-message communications as outlined in this policy.

Section i.

Type & purpose of communications.

  • Scope of messages. Text messages sent to you from Miami Beach Family & Sports Chiropractic Center are healthcare-related communications sent in the context of an established or prospective treatment relationship. Messages may include — appointment scheduling and confirmations, appointment reminders and changes, treatment-coordination communications, billing and payment notifications, intake and new-patient form delivery, replies to inquiries you have initiated, and occasional practice updates such as office hours, holiday closures, or service changes. Messaging is not used for unrelated commercial marketing by third parties.

  • Rates & frequency. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Message frequency varies based on the nature of your interaction with our office.

Patient consent & opt-out.

  • Consent to receive messages. By using the text-chat widget on our website, by submitting your mobile phone number through any form on Miami Beach Family & Sports Chiropractic Center's website (including the appointment-request form, the new-patient intake forms, and the contact form) and clicking submit, or by providing your mobile number to our office in person or by phone for the purpose of patient communication, you consent to receive electronic communications from Miami Beach Family & Sports Chiropractic Center. This includes, but is not limited to, text messages related to appointments, treatment coordination, billing, and the practice updates described in Section i.

  • Opt-out at any time. You may opt out of receiving text messages from our office at any time by replying STOP to any message we send you. After we receive your STOP request, we will cease sending non-emergency text communications to that number. For assistance, reply HELP.

  • Effect of opting out. Opting out of text messages does not affect your status as a patient or your ability to schedule, attend, or pay for care. You may continue to reach our office by phone at (305) 672-2225, by fax at (305) 674-4449, by email, or in person.

Privacy, PHI & data use.

  • Use of your information. Your personal information is used only as necessary to coordinate your care, schedule and confirm appointments, communicate billing matters, and respond to inquiries you initiate. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number with third-party marketers.

  • Privacy Notice. Our handling of your information is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices and our website Privacy Policy, which are incorporated into and form part of this Text Messaging Policy.

Important — Protected Health Information

Standard SMS text messaging is not a secure or encrypted communication channel and should not be used to transmit Protected Health Information (PHI) such as detailed medical history, diagnoses, treatment notes, lab values, or any sensitive clinical information. Please limit text-message content to scheduling, confirmations, and general inquiries. For matters involving PHI, contact our office directly by phone at (305) 672-2225 or in person.

Terms & conditions.

  • Acceptance of terms. By using the text-chat widget on our website, or by providing your mobile number to our office for the purpose of patient communication, you agree to these terms.

  • Modifications to terms. Miami Beach Family & Sports Chiropractic Center reserves the right to modify this Text Messaging Policy and our Privacy Policy at any time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of our text-messaging services after changes are posted signifies acceptance of the updated terms.

  • No fee charged by our office. We do not charge a fee for sending or receiving messages through our text-chat widget or our patient text-messaging system. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may still apply.

  • Acceptable content. You agree not to send our office any content that is violent, graphic, sexually explicit, harassing, discriminatory, or that violates intellectual-property rights. We reserve the right to remove such content from our records and to discontinue text communication with the sender.

Section v.

Governing law.

This Text Messaging Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any disputes arising out of or relating to this policy shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
